Members voted unanimously to approve an ordinance first introduced on Aug. 13
Members of Manchester's Township Council voted on Monday evening to allow police to patrol for traffic offenses in Crestwood Village VI. The ordinance, introduced at the council's Aug. 13 meeting, was spurred by a written request for patrols of the Whiting senior community's roadways, driveways and parking lots sent to the township by the Crestwood Village VI Community Association, Clerk Sabina Skibo said at the time. "Crestwood Village VI had asked the township to enforce traffic regulations within their development because of issues like speeding and stopping at stop signs," Council President Craig Wallis said Monday. Police already patrol other private communities
An ordinance introduced by Manchester' Township Council Monday night would allow township police to patrol Crestwood Village VI in search of motor vehicle violations. A written request for the patrols, which would apply to the Whiting senior community's roadways, driveways and parking lots, was sent to the township by the Crestwood Village VI Community Association, said Clerk Sabina Skibo. I actually think patrolling neighborhoods is a good idea, whether in a senior community or in single family residential neighborhoods, but does anyone know why three police cars were at the corner of Larchmont and Grinnell in PLP Friday night?
