Toms River and Howell Residents Among Those Charged in Lakewood Drug Busts

Drugs and weapons charges were issued by authorities following two searches last week

Toms River and Howell residents were among the 11 charged with drug offenses following Ocean County Special Operations-led searches of Lakewood residences last week. The searches, conducted in two homes and two vehicles in conjunction with authorities in Lakewood and Brick, led to the discovery of drugs, packaging and distribution supplies, and semi-automatic handguns, according to Capt. Jack Sramaty of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Special Operations Group. On Feb. 5, county and Lakewood detectives searched a Coventry Drive residence and seized over one-half ounce of cocaine, an undisclosed amount of marijuana, $1185 in cash, and materials associated with packaging and distributing drugs, Sramaty said. Police Blotter: Forked River Pair Charged with Drug Possession

Charges issued by Manchester police between May 6 and 12

Two Forked River men were arrested and charged with drug possession last week, according to information released by Manchester Police Department Capt. Lisa Parker. Hector A. Mejias, 26, and Matthew T. Lonsdale, 30, each face possession of a controlled dangerous substance charges after being stopped along Route 37 by Patrolman Jesse Hoydis on May 12. Both were taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, Parker said. Other charges issued last week include: Sunday, May 6 Darius D. Smith, 21, of Manchester, was charged with disorderly conduct on Savannah Road by Patrolman Adam Guker. Smith was released with a summons, Parker said. Manchester resident Darrin M. Payne, 48, was charged with driving while intoxicated by Patrolman Peter Manco. …

Indictments: Lakehurst and Manchester Residents Had Drugs in Monmouth

Grand jury handed up indictment last week

A Manchester man and Lakehurst woman were indicted by Monmouth County grand juries last week on unrelated drug possession charges.  A grand jury charged that Bryan McLeod, a 45-year-old from Alexander Avenue, was in possession of heroin in Neptune on Sept. 27, 2011. McLeod was charged with another man, Antonio Davis, 41, of Neptune, with the third degree offense.  Davis faces multiple counts for drug possession and distribution, according to the indictment. Davis distributed heroin to McLeod within 1,000 feet of school property — Neptune Township Middle School — and within 500 feet of a public park — Division Street Park — the indictment charges. Davis was also indicted for possessing drugs within 1,000 feet of school property and 500 feet…

Lakehurst Police Charge Two With Drug Possession During Traffic Stops

Police issued the charges last Sunday

Two routine traffic stops in Lakehurst last weekend led police to charge the drivers with drug possession. A Camden County man was charged with drug possession following a Route 70 traffic stop on March 25. Chaz Walker, 20, of Voorhees, originally was stopped by Officer Robert Seiden for an equipment violation, but police then found that he was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, said Sgt. Ronald Heinzman.  Walker also was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, Heinzman said.  After being processed at police department headquarters, Walker was released on summonses pending a municipal court date. Two Arrests Made For Drug and Weapons Possession Offenses

Lakehurst motor vehicle stop yields two arrests for police department

What began as a simple motor vehicle stop in Lakehurst ended in a pair of arrests for local law enforcement. At approximately 9:53 p.m. Friday, David J. Larsen, 20, of East Brunswick and Brendan J. Coyle, 18, of Jackson, were stopped by Lakehurst Police Department Officers Matthew Kline and Stephen Gallo near Route 37 and Brown Avenue for a Maintenance of Lamps violation. According to Sgt. Ronald Heinzman, upon approaching the vehicle the officers smelled burnt marijuana coming from the car. Both marijuana and alcohol were recovered from the vehicle, along with an expandable baton that police said belonged to Coyle.  Both men were then arrested by Kline and Gallo and were taken to the Lakehurst Police Department, where they were charged …

Pine Lake Park Man Jailed on Multiple Drug, Weapons Charges

Manchester police and county officers executed search warrant Wednesday

A Manchester man faces numerous charges including drug and gun possession after multiple law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at a Pine Lake Park residence Wednesday. Manchester police, assisted by the Ocean County Regional SWAT team and Sheriff's Department K-9 unit, arrested and charged 25-year-old Joseph J. Zonin Jr. of Parkview Boulevard early Wednesday morning following a narcotics investigation by the department's detective bureau, said Capt. Lisa Parker.  Among the charges, Parker said that the investigation found that Zonin possessed quantities of marijuana which indicate he was trying to grow the plant. Early Sunday Morning Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

Front seat passenger possessed crack cocaine, police said

An early morning traffic stop Sunday led Manchester police to discover that a township resident was in possession of crack cocaine.  The stop occurred at about 3:53 a.m. Sunday when Ptl. Christian Nazario witnessed a 2004 Hyundai Elantra make an illegal left-hand turn out of the Quick Chek parking lot located at 3001 Ridgeway Rd. on to Route 70, said Capt. Lisa Parker.  Nazario found that the front seat passenger, 23-year-old Brooke Johnson of Patricia Court, was not wearing a seat belt. When Nazario ran a check of Johnson's background, he discovered she was wanted by the Monmouth County Sherff's Department for a probation violation, according to Parker.
