1,000 Bags of Heroin Seized, Newark Man Arrested

Motor vehicle stop in Seaside Park leads to drug-related charges for Ibnballha Pitman, 34, of Newark

A Newark man was arrested and charged after police seized 1,000 bags of heroin in an investigation into drug activity in the Ocean County area, according to a news release from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. Ibnballha Pitman, 34, of Newark was arrested on April 15 after a cooperative investigation into his alleged drug distribution activities. Detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop on April 15 in which Pitman was the occupant of a 2001 White Honda Accord. The stop took place in the area of O Street and Central Avenue in Seaside Park. The officers obtained and executed a search warrant for the car, ultimately seizing approximately 1,000 bags of heroin with the approximate street value of $5,000, the news release said. A routine traffic stop on Commonwealth Boulevard led to drug charges for a Toms River man Wednesday.  Manchester police Patrolman Joseph Fastige was on patrol on Route 37 near Commonwealth when he spotted a 2004 Honda Accord exit the Exxon gas station without headlights on, said Lt. Vincent Manco in a statement. Fastige then stopped the driver of the car, Stephon Wilmot, 19, of Toms River, on Commonwealth and Second Street in the township's Pine Lake Park section. "During the course of the investigation the driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia," Manco said. Manchester police charge two Bayville men with drug offenses

Two Bayville men face numerous charges after police allege that drugs and paraphernalia were found during a traffic stop in Manchester.  Manchester police Patrolman Peter Manco made a motor vehicle stop on Friday, Oct. 19, and seized 150 wax paper folds containing heroin, multiple empty wax paper folds, a hypodermic needle and $4,501 in cash, according to a statement released by Lt. Vincent Manco. Alan Arons, 31, of Bayville was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and hindering apprehension, Manco said. Police Blotter: More Drug Charges Announced

Law enforcement activity reported by Manchester officers last week

A week after Manchester police announced five drug arrests in the township, officers charged another three with the offense. Police issued the charges on a single day, Saturday, Oct. 6, according to a log of police activity released by Capt. Lisa Parker. Additionally, two of those charged received an additional count of driving while intoxicated.  Township resident Alexandra M. Fiore, 18, was charged with drug possession on Route 571 by Patrolman Joseph Reilly and released with a summons, the captain said. Cream Ridge resident Matthew A. Goldberg, 34, was charged with with both drug possession and driving while intoxicated after being stopped on Route 530 in Whiting by Patrolman Anthony Iliadis. Police Blotter: 6 County Residents Charged with Drug Offenses

Officers from the Manchester Police Department issued drug charges to six Ocean County residents last week, including three township residents, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker.  The first of the offenses came on Saturday, July 7, when 23-year-old township resident William G. Ziemer Jr. was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance at Manchester Plaza by Patrolman Brian Collins. Ziemer was released with a summons, Parker said.  On Wednesday, July 11, Jackson resident Wayne Inman, 47, was charged with the offense at the Surf and Stream Campground by Patrolman Steven Wendruff and was released with a summons, Parker said.  The next day, Detective Adam Emmons charged Manchester resident Shawn T. Officers from the Manchester Police Department issued drug and paraphernalia possession charges to three 18-year-olds in unrelated incidents last week, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker.  The first of the charges was issued on Sunday, June 17, when Luis M. Alfaro, 18, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop conducted by Patrolman Steven Wendruff on Route 37 near Alexander Avenue. Police released Alfaro with a summons, according to Parker. The next day, Toms River resident Erik Vrskovy, 18, was charged with drug possession at the Heritage Minerals site by Patrolman Dave Fusaro. Linden Man Jailed After Manchester Police Discover Drugs in Car

Police executed search warrant Monday evening

A Manchester police officer responding to a call in Holly Oaks wound up charging a Union County man with multiple drug offenses after spotting his "suspicious" car on the way, police said. Patrolman Peter Manco spotted the Nissan Altima driven by 25-year-old James R. Smith of Linden in the area of Holly Oaks Monday evening. When the officer questioned the man, he refused to cooperate and eventually his car was impounded, said Capt. The Manchester Police Department issued the following charges over the last two weeks, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker. Tuesday, March 13 Alycyne M. Fumosa, a 22-year-old from Toms River, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance by Patrolman Peter Manco following a stop along Route 70. Fumosa was released on a summons, Parker said. Wednesday, March 14 Point Pleasant resident Sean R.
