Educational Foundation Calls Golf Fundraiser a 'Rousing Success'

Fundraiser was postponed from May to July after threat of storms

Organizers of the 2012 Manchester Township Educational Foundation Golf Outing called the fourth annual event which raised more than $19,000 a "rousing success." The fundraiser, which brings in money to "benefit the educational experiences of Manchester Township students through donation of technology items, classroom mini-grants and more," according to foundation secretary Marge Camposano, was held in July at the Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Lakewood.  Funds were raised through donations and registrations from the over 80 golfers and sponsors of the nonproft organization's event. Thunderstorm threat forced postponement; new date set for July

A new date has been announced for the 2012 Manchester Township Educational Foundation golf outing fundraiser.  Held at the Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Lakewood, organizers have settled on Thursday, July 12, as the fundraiser's new date.  "We hope that you can join us on the new date for a full day of golf, or later in the evening for our dinner and mini-auction," said foundation secretary Marge Camposano in a statement.  Organizers postponed the May 21 outing when thunderstorms threatened the area. Storm Threat Forces Postponement of Education Foundation Golf Outing

New date for fundraising golf event will be announced soon

The threat of inclement weather today has forced organizers to postpone a Manchester Township Education Foundation golf fundraiser. A message posted to the organization's Facebook page Monday morning promises that a new date will be announced "soon" for the 4th annual outing, which was scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Lakewood.  "We are sorry to announce that, due to impending thunderstorms, our Golf Outing is CANCELLED for today," the post reads.  The National Weather Service forecast calls for a possible thunderstorm before 2 p.m. Showers are also likely throughout the day, as the chance of precipitation is 70 percent.  An awards dinner was scheduled to cap off the day's events at 7:30 p.m., according to…
