Report: Manchester First Aid Squad Miles and Calls Down, Man Hours Up

Monthly report from the squad was delivered to the Township Council last week

The number of miles driven and calls for assistance received by the Manchester First Aid and Rescue Squad were down from August to September, though the number of man hours spent responding to calls was up, according to a recently prepared productivity report.  The squad's volunteers responded to 207 calls in September, 28 fewer than the month prior, according to a productivity report presented to the Township Council last week by Edward Lynch, the squad's publicity officer. "Mr. Lynch, thank your members again. It's a lot of hours you put in and it's a very tough job," said Council President Craig Wallis during his report at the meeting. The number of miles driven and calls for assistance received by the Manchester First Aid and Rescue Squad were up from July to August, though the number of man hours spent responding to calls dipped, according to a recently prepared productivity report.  Volunteers responded to 235 calls in August, up from 211 in July, according to a productivity report prepared for the Township Council by Edward Lynch, the squad's publicity officer. Council President Craig Wallis thanked Lynch and the all volunteers for helping their fellow residents.  "So again, Mr. Lynch, we thank you and all of your guys for the work you put in," Wallis said. EMS bill must be reworked, Manchester emergency responder urges

The following letter written by Manchester First Aid and Rescue Squad Publicity Officer Edward C. Lynch was sent to 10th Legislative District Assemblymen Dave Wolfe and Greg McGuckin, calling on them to take action to table a bill which revises emergency medical service delivery requirements.  As my Assembly representative, please contact your colleagues on the Appropriations Committee and ask them to table A2463 when it comes before them on Monday, Sept. 24.  I was very disappointed to see that the EMS bill (A2095) had been reintroduced as A2463 without addressing the issues raised by Gov. Christie in his conditional veto of A2095/S818 at the end of the last legislative session. It was especially disheartening to see that no impartial …

Report: Manchester First Aid Squad Calls Dip, Miles Driven Up

Though the number of calls for assistance received by the Manchester First Aid and Rescue Squad dipped from June to July, volunteers nonetheless drove over 200 miles more compared to the previous month.  Volunteers responded to 211 calls in July, down from 218 in June, according to a productivity report prepared for the Township Council by Edward Lynch, the squad's publicity officer.  "Mr. Lynch, thank the members for everything they do for us," said Council President Craig Wallis after being presented with the report at the governing body's regular meeting this week. After a two month decline in the amount of service calls received, Manchester first aid personnel saw an uptick in the number of incidents requiring their assistance in June.  The Manchester First Aid and Rescue squad responded to 218 calls for emergency medical service in June, according to a report prepared by publicity officer Edward Lynch and delivered to the Township Council last week. In May, the squad responded to 185 calls.  An increase in calls meant that the squad's ambulances and First Responder Unit drove 2,403 miles throughout Manchester's nearly 83 square miles of land in June, according to the report, compared to 2,169 miles of travel in May.  More calls in June meant that man hours spent by responders increased by 306, as …

For the second month in a row, Manchester first aid personnel responded to fewer calls for service, meaning volunteer hours and miles driven were down, according to a report recently presented to the Township Council. The Manchester First Aid and Rescue squad responded to 185 calls for emergency medical service in May, according to a report prepared in late-June by publicity officer Edward Lynch. In April, the squad responded to 214 calls. The squad's ambulances and First Responder Unit drove 2,169 miles responding to the calls throughout Manchester's nearly 83 square miles of land, according to the report. Manchester first aid personnel responded to 45 fewer calls for service in April than in March, meaning volunteer hours and miles driven were down, according to a report presented to the Township Council last week. The Manchester First Aid and Rescue squad responded to 214 calls for service last month, said publicity officer Edward Lynch.  Fewer calls meant less time spent by responders; 527 man hours were spent, down from 626 man hours in March, according to Lynch. The squad's ambulances and First Responder Unit drove 2,565 miles throughout the nearly 83 square mile township in April, 744 fewer miles than March. Report: Manchester First Aid Squad Calls Up from February to March

Squad presented its productivity report to the Township Council this week

Responders from the Manchester First Aid and Rescue Squad fielded 57 more calls for service in March than in February, according to data recently released by the organization.  Crews responded to 259 calls for service in March, up from 202 in February, said Publicity Officer Edward Lynch in the productivity report presented to Manchester's Township Council this week. Those 259 calls required squad vehicles, which include ambulances and the First Responder Unit, to drive a total of 3,309 miles throughout the nearly 83 square mile township. Responders spent 626 man hours tending to calls, according to Lynch.  Council President Craig Wallis thanked the Colonial Drive-based organization for its continued service in his council report comments.

UPDATE: ShopRite Employees Break Car Window to Save Unresponsive Man in Parking Lot

Man suffered an apparent heart attack Friday morning

Employees at the Manchester ShopRite were forced to break the car window of a man who suffered an apparent heart attack while driving through the store's parking lot Friday morning.  The man, who has been identified by Manchester Police Department Lt. Robert Dolan as 77-year-old township resident Isaac Lasky, was alone and unresponsive in his car when the incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. Two cart attendants, Matthew Camp and Ron Weaver, saw his car strike a curb. Camp called 911 while Weaver went inside to alert management, said Jennifer McMahon, director of Human Resources for Perlmutter Family ShopRites. Police said that the car stopped in the grass between the store's lot and Route 70. Employees who responded to the car had a …

Report: Manchester First Aid Responded to 202 Calls in February

Squad presented its productivity report this week

Responders from the Manchester First Aid and Rescue Squad responded to 202 calls for emergency medical services in February, according to a report issued by the organization.  The duty crew handled 198 calls and volunteer crews handled four calls, said Publicity Officer Edward Lynch in the report prepared for Manchester's Township Council.  "This is the second sequential month where our mutual aid commercial service, Quality Medical Transport, were not used to respond to our service area," Lynch said.  The squad's vehicles, including ambulances and the First Responder Unit, drove 2,246 miles and 524 man hours were spent responding to calls, according to Lynch.  Township Council President Craig Wallis told those in attendance at the March …
