Three Children Hospitalized After Manchester School Bus Collision

Police investigating incident outside Manchester High in which teen driver collided with BOE bus

Three children were hospitalized Friday after a motorist collided with a Manchester Board of Education school bus that was dropping off children at Manchester High School. The balance of children on the bus were examined by school nurses after the 11:37 a.m. collision, while the driver of the passenger car that police say hit the bus also was hospitalized. Police say a 17-year-old Pine Lake Park girl had just dropped her brother off at the high school when she exited the driveway onto South Colonial Drive and collided with the bus, operated by Kathleen White, 59, of Whiting. The girl, who was driving a 2003 Honda Accord, was treated at Community Medical Center in Toms River on a complaint of head pain. Police say she was wearing a seat …

PHOTOS: Lip Sync Acts Shine at Hawkapalooza Fundraiser

The fundraising event was held in support of the Kevin's Kids holiday toy drive

Manchester High School students brought their swagger as they performed in a Friday night lip sync fundraiser for the Kevin's Kids holiday toy drive. Every seat in the high school auditorium was claimed as parents, students and staff watched the sometimes over-the-top performances. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the toy drive, which was founded by school district administrator Kevin Burger nearly 30 years ago.  Those who would like to donate can call 732-350-5900 or make a check payable to: Kevin's Kids c/o Manchester Twp. Middle School 2759 Ridgeway Rd. Manchester, NJ 08759  Donations of clothing and toys can be brought to the office of any Manchester public school.
