Recent police activity reported by the Manchester Police Department
Manchester police reported two drug possession charges on their most recent arrest blotter, released by Capt. Lisa Parker. The first was reported on Wednesday, Jan. 30, when Manchester resident Michael S. Hinds, 20, was charged with the offense at Pine Acres Manor by Patrolman Joseph Reilly. The second came one day later, when 25-year-old Joshua W. Hogan of Chesterfield was charged along Route 530 in Whiting by Patrolman Anthony Iliadis, according to Parker. Both men were released by police on summonses, Parker said. Manchester police activity from May 21 through May 27
Manchester police issued drug charges to residents from Ocean and Union Counties last week, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker. Toms River resident Vincent M. Ricco was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in Holly Oaks by Patrolman Anthony Iliadis on Tuesday, May 22. Ricco was processed and taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, Parker said. The second drug charge came on Sunday, May 27, when 18-year-old Avel D. Guevara of Elizabeth also was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance on Route 37 near Alexander Avenue by Patrolman Steven Wendruff. Manchester police officers charged four with driving while intoxicated as they travelled within the township last week, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker. On Sunday, May 20, Officer Richard Mazza charged 41-year-old Manchester resident Jeffrey S. Merinsky with DWI after stopping him along Commonwealth Boulevard in the township's Pine Lake Park section. Police released Merinsky with a summons, Parker said. That same day, 18-year-old Shayleen D. Reynolds of Brielle was charged with DWI on Route 70 near mile marker 42.5 by Patrolman Brian Collins. Borough officers charged three over Memorial Day weekend
An Ocean County man faces two drug charges and a weapons offense after a traffic stop by a Lakehurst patrolman working a "Click It or Ticket" detail. Officer Jeffrey Emmons stopped Patrick Morgan, 21, of Little Egg Harbor on Saturday, May 26, after he was spotted operating a cell phone while driving at about 7:30 p.m., said Chief of Police Eric Higgins. "An on scene investigation lead to Officer Emmons recovering a quantity of marijuana, a pipe used to smoke marijuana, and a set of brass knuckles from the suspect's vehicle," Higgins said. Man was found with heroin and other drugs
What started as a traffic stop in Lakehurst for a brake light violation ended with drug charges for two Ocean County men. Officer Jeffrey Emmons stopped a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 28-year-old Tyler Foose of Whiting at about 2 a.m. Thursday. Police charged Foose with possession of drug paraphernalia after a search, said Chief of Police Eric Higgins. Foose's passenger, 29-year-old South Toms River resident Vincent Surko, faces one weapons charge and multiple drug charges after police searched him. Police found Surko with a butterfly knife — "a prohibited weapon," Higgins said. Recent local law enforcement activity in Manchester and Lakehurst
Manchester Police issued three drug charges last week, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker. On April 26, two Lanoka Harbor resident were charged near Beckerville Road and Horicon Avenue. Christine E. Sandella, 29, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia by Patrolman Adam Guker and Nicole M. Sandella, 30, was charged with drug possession by Patrolman Peter Manco, Parker said. Christine E. Sandella was transferred into Ocean County Sheriff's Department custody and Nicole M. Sandella was released on a summons, according to Parker. Two days later, 22-year-old Robert J. Lakehurst police responded to Chestnut Street home Wednesday
An adult and teen were arrested and charged by Lakehurst police Wednesday for their roles in an assault with a hammer at a borough residence. Sergeants Ronald Heinzman and Brian Baranyay, along with Officer Robert Seiden, responded to a Chestnut Street home at about 5:55 p.m. after receiving a report that a person was assaulted with a hammer, said Chief of Police Eric Higgins. "Upon arrival to the area, two suspects from the incident were walking east on Chestnut Street near Rose Street," Higgins said in a statement. "Both were pointed out to Sgt. Baranyay and Sgt. A traffic stop for a Spring Lake woman in Lakehurst ended with her facing drug charges. Kathryn S. Collins, 27, was stopped on Route 37 east at the borough's boundary with Manchester on Friday by Patrolman Jeffrey Emmons after he suspected a motor vehicle violated, said Lakehurst Police Department Sgt. Ronald Heinzman. When speaking with the driver, Emmons smelled marijuana coming from the car, Heinzman said.
