Cars Strike Utility Poles on Cox Cro Road, Hooper Avenue in Two Separate Incidents
Both drivers left accident scene, charged with DUI, according to police
A Toms River woman was charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident Friday morning, according to Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. Sheri Perine, 41, Norma Place, was driving a 1999 Toyota west on Cox Cro and Whitesville Roads when it left the road and struck a utility pole at approximately 12:30 a.m., Mastronardy said in a press release. After hitting the pole she attempted to drive home, but pulled into a parking lot on Route 70. Perine was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. No information was available on Perine's condition. Officer Mathew Broderick was the arresting officer.
